Soma Co-owners, Helen and Joe Terry are moving to Soma Ranch full time. A simpler life with all food, clothes and cables in one place! More swimming, less driving, where we can play more and work less.
Soma Ranch certainly is a story, a story book with many chapters.
To co-owners Helen and Joe Terry, Soma Ranch often feels like a fairly tale, a dream come true and a fabulous ride.
And we hope you too enjoy and experience the magic of this special place.
Soma Ranch began with an idea, something we wrote 13 years ago…
“At Soma Ranch we welcome you home. Each time you step into Soma Ranch, you receive the opportunity to heal, learn, be inspired and have a boat load of fun in the process! We define Soma as “healthy body, mind and spirit in its wholeness.””
Soma Ranch becomes 13 years old in a couple of weeks. This passage into becoming a teenager business is a major milestone.
We feel accomplished, busting with the desire to declare from the top of our lungs “yippee, yahoo and yeh haw! “We’ve made it!” (can you hear the donkeys in the chorus singing “hee haw!”
Soma Ranch has succeeded through floods, droughts, COVID, struggles, deaths, losses, disappointments, many “left turns”, surprises and more..
Business development is now in the middle phase, not quite sure what the ending will be yet and Helen & Joe Terry are super relieved to have got through these many challenges to a place of stability, joy and relaxation (and yes there’s plenty more work to be done)

We have immense gratitude for the lifestyle we’ve led, opportunities provided and the business we’ve developed. The time has come to shift gears and live full time at Soma Ranch.
1. Thank you AirBNB we’ve had a great ride. Some years, with you and your wonderful guests, we were able to keep our gate and doors open. We’ve sustained super host status with AirBNB for 12+ years, with 132 reviews and 4.9 star rating.
Now we’re ready for a new beginning where we will focus solely on classes, retreats and trainings.
2. Thank you midsouth fibre for bringing lightening fast internet speeds to Soma Ranch, you are a GAME CHANGER and have sparked a new beginning.
We now can stream “TV SHOW” standard LIVE ONLINE classes and Nia Trainings and provide reliable fast internet for our guests.
3. Thank you guests, participants, clients who feel more like friends, and family, without you we’d have no business being here..

The Beginning, Middle and End of the transition to full time living Soma Ranch Living ~ “Play, Growth and REcreation”
PLAY: Our move began with the PIANO, not an easy item to move. There is something grounding and quite permanent about moving a grand piano! Installed thanks to a massive moving truck with 5 strong/careful movers.
The spacious gathering social room feels complete. The beautiful piano is in the corner, looking out the window. With the high cathedral ceiling and open beam rafters, the acoustics are outstanding. Helen “music school drop out” LOVES to play, we’re entertaining “piano lounge experiences”
GROWTH: The middle of this transition to full time Soma Ranch living was THE PLANT relocation. We’ve had a grand time moving, repotting and now deciding where house plants who will now all live at Soma Ranch.
RECREATION: The end of this transition to full time Soma Ranch living will be to tow and store our BOAT.
We’re ready to let go of living by the Lake and happy we can continue to enjoy boating.
Taking guests out on the water and sharing all this wonderful Lake Conroe has to offer is a joy we are thrilled to be able to continue.
We’ll be fully moved in by September 1, ready to celebrate the 13th birthday of Soma Ranch. We’d love to see you and celebrate together. Whether you come online or in person there are several options for you to choose from.
