For the first time at Soma Ranch we introduced some “debut” hybrid 30 minutes Nia Jam classes. This is where practicing teachers had the opportunity to teach live with people in the room and people on line (we fondly call this “the wall of smiles”.

Miki flew in from California to take the course, it was her first time to visit Soma Ranch and meet Helen Terry. Miki is a fabulous yoga teacher who was thrilled to be able to teach her ONLINE classes while staying at Soma Ranch. We’re excited to hear Miki plans to return soon. She’s deciding between taking the Nia Blue or Nia Brown Belt training at Soma Ranch in a few months time.
Sarah was Helen’s desk guide angel at the NiaMoves Studio in Houston for years. She took the Nia White Belt several years ago and has been developing her Nia teaching skills. In addition to her full time job as a school librarian, Sarah has established some regular Nia classes online via facebook. Similar to Helen, Sarah has created a lovely way to connect with her mother who is her most regular attendee!
Suz returned to experience the Nia Green Belt in person, having initially experienced the course online. She enjoyed the in person interaction, the ability to review the course in a “condensed” 5 day course and to have the opportunity to practice teach.
Thank you Ella, (Suz’s daughter) who beautifully wrapped some lovely thoughtful gifts (delivered via Suz) to pass on to both Joe and Helen.
Ella was the youngest person to ever take the Nia White Belt at Soma Ranch last summer.
Times like this, with new guests who become fast friends, returning joyful guests, family members we’ve got to know well, the connections and love, are dreams come true.
