Oath Ceremony

Yesterday I said "I do" officially for the 2nd time in my life. I am now a US Citizen, I didn't know, till the Oath Ceremony, when we say "I do" this is the official moment we become a US Citizen.

I first said "I do" 29 years ago when I married Joe. I've been a permanent resident (with a "green card") ever since. Legal to live in the US, paying taxes the same as everyone else, yet yesterday was the day I fully committed ;-)

The whole day was surprisingly emotional and surreal. I am filled with gratitude for the journey I've been on, the people I've been blessed to meet/be with, my family, friendships, career, business and the life I have loved living in the United States. If you have been on this journey with me, thank you.

Kitt Taylor, who’s taken Nia with me since I was pregnant with my (now 27 years old) daughter mailed me this adorable hanging celebration!

Entering the room, each person was given a number, mine was 52! one of my most favorite

The officiant leading the ceremony shared "although this is not a 5000 person celebration, where you are surrounded by family and friends, I hope this ceremony, and moment in time, will be a most special and memorable one, this is something some of you have been waiting to happen for decades..." All true for me.

Ironically, and not surprisingly, we are hosting a yoga retreat at Soma Ranch. Joe has beautifully, and single handedly, hosted Loveland Yoga. He’s providing delicious meals, taking care of guests' needs and the "many things Soma" that need care. Yes! don't worry, Joe is NOT leading any yoga classes LOL.. take a look at their website it’s AMAZINGLY inspiring.. https://lovelandyoga.com/

I put out a request for song suggestions for my day to both our 30 day Challenge group and the Nia International Teacher group. The invitation was "what is a great tune for Helen to play while driving to her Oath Ceremony". The response has been fabulous! Yesterday morning I took a run around my favorite neighborhood listening to this playlist filled with joy, nostalgia and glee for where I've been, how I've got here and what is about to happen.

I LOVE this playlist and I'd LOVE to celebrate with you in dance!

Tomorrow (Monday) we will dance and celebrate at the 10am Nia Hybrid class, I'd love you to join us either in person or online. Entertain wearing something red, white and/or blue!

Our neighbor’s goats are becoming a daily “feature” here at Soma Ranch. Perhaps when LovelandYoga returns we’ll be ready for an outdoor goat yoga experience!
