Helen's back from Rancho La Puerta

15 years ago, when I (Helen Terry) first visited to teach/present at Rancho La Puerta, Tecate, Mexico, I fell in love with the concept, the beauty, the creativity and especially the community cultivated. I came home to Joe, shared the vision and the rest is history LOL. Our 15.2 acre Soma Ranch is a mini boutique version of this world class spa resort that truly is like none other.

Returning to Rancho La Puerta this past week has been a joy. To have the opportunity to share the experience with my mother, Brenda, and to share/teach Nia with guests has been a wonderful treat.

Described as “a spa with soul”, Rancho La Puerta is 4,000 acres with 40 miles of hiking trails, 32 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, and an organic farm with a cooking school. They have eleven gyms, four pools, a running track, as well as tennis, Pickleball, basketball and volleyball courts. There are three full-service holistic spas. Guests stay in 86 individual casitas peppered throughout the resort. As you walk winding brick paths, you’ll happen upon a wine bar, juice bar or art studio. There are countless indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, as well as WiFi lounges for dedicated screen time. As you wander further, you’ll discover a labyrinth, reflexology path and three dozen hammocks slung between the oaks.

Nature, in all the splendor and power of a luxuriant vegetation, of flowers carpeting the green grass with their many colours, of trees laden with fruits, speaks to us of life and health.
The countryside is joyous with the song of birds, joyous with the delicious breeze bringing the wanderer in the fields the sweet scent of all these manifestations of goodliness and beauty.
